Currently the editorial director of Woodworking Network, including FDMC magazine, Will Sampson is a lifelong woodworker, building everything from furniture and cabinetry to stringed musical instruments, and a serial entrepreneur. His publishing experience includes 20 years in newspapers, a stint as the editor of Fine Woodworking magazine, and founder of WoodshopBusiness magazine, which was eventually combined into CabinetMaker in 1998. CabinetMaker was eventually merged with FDM magazine to form FDMC. Sampson was awarded the Woodworkers Helping Others award in 2004, “recognizing his support of the woodworking industry and the students that represent its future.” He was also instrumental in the founding of the Cabinet Makers Association in 1998, serving as the organization’s first executive director.
