After immigrating to the USA in 1989 from Ireland, Brian Clancy joined his family’s moving and storage business in New York. He began attending night classes at SUNY Purchase, NY where his real passion in the woodworking field began to emerge. In the late ’90’s, a keen hobby turned into a career as he left the family business and began a second career working in a local woodworking shop. Soon after he branched out on his own to create Clancy Woodworking LLC in May of 2000.
The first thirteen years were dedicated to residential cabinetry. In 2013, after having been awarded a custom reception desk and millwork for a plastic surgeons office in Manhattans exclusive Park Avenue, his interest in the commercial field was peaked and especially in the area of automation in the workshop. Following the purchase of a CNC router and an industrial edgebander, he began to branch into other commercial millwork arenas. Business continues to expand and Restaurants, medical offices, museums, and hotels have now become the mainstay of Clancy Woodworking. Brian Clancy currently resides in Sherman, CT where he owns and operates Clancy Woodworking LLC.
