How IoT Monitoring Improves Combustible Dust Safety Systems

The Internet of Things (IoT) is transforming the way combustible dust safety systems work. IoT is used to monitor and analyze the data of dynamic systems, processing events, triggering alerts and alarms all while feeding complex dashboards of real-time data. Equipped with sensors, dust collectors and other systems collect safety data and transmit it to the cloud to be analyzed or shared on-demand or with other machines. By distributing machine instructions, reports, and alarms on a real-time basis, IoT monitoring allows facilities that produce combustible dust to receive the actionable information they need to improve operations. In facilities with combustible dust risks, dust control systems are a high priority. Safety 4.0 is expected to utilize IoT monitoring to create the protection layer needed to prevent combustible dust events. As this new ecosystem is implemented in more production spaces, the goal is to create a discernible difference in safety levels everywhere.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Learn how IoT monitoring technology can improve combustible dust safety systems.
  2. Learn the best approach to implementing an IoT monitoring system for a dust collection system.
  3. Learn about the latest IoT monitoring solutions available for dust collection systems.
